July 20, 2015

AH - this is stressful because I have so much I want to write about and I have like 30 mins. We'll see how far I get. Well this last week was awesome! And it's crazy to think that the end of the transfer is next week. So I'll let you know if I'm staying in Milton or not next Monday. CRAZY. As weird as this sounds, I hope I stay! I'm really liking the ward and I'm getting super close to our investigators!

SO HAPPY: We had an amazing experience with Eileen and her family a couple days ago. At the previous meeting we invited them to read Ether 12. They were about to leave for a trip and we prayed that they would make time to read that chapter. Well at our visit with them this week we asked about their experience from reading the chapter and Joshua, the 12 year old, pulled out his Book of Mormon and showed us that he highlighted the verses he liked. Wow - I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling. And each of the family members shared something they learned from the chapter. This family is amazing and is totally keeping commitments. They weren't able to come to church yesterday but this week we are focusing on keeping the Sabbath day Holy. So hopefully next week we can have 5 investigators at church! We fasted for them yesterday that they will understand the importance of this commandment and make sacrifices so they can receive the blessings that come from it.

STEVE: Whoa... I don't really know how to describe him, but I'll try. He's like 30 and is single. And he likes drugs and alcohol lots but doesn't want to like it. We taught him on Wednesday and I'm not sure if he remembers what we talked about at all. We'll see. He calls us a lot to tell us he's been praying so that's good but it's kind of weird. I wish we had Elders to pass him off to, but we don't. We will just always have a member from our ward come teaching with us! The good news is he wants to be baptised, really bad! So hopefully that motivation will stay when it's hard for him to keep the commandments.

EATING FOOD ALL DAY EVERY DAY: The members are so good to us. This last week we had 3 different days where we ate two dinners!!! Like we had one scheduled and another where we would show up and they said they've prepared a meal for us. So nice of them. And we have to eat or we will totally offend them. I think my favourite meal we had this week was home-made sushi. Holy smokes it was so good! And so fun. We helped her make it then we ate lots. Ha. We love our members but I've had a couple of nights were I just go to bed feeling like death!

LOVE THE EXERCISE ROOM: The good news is we have a bomb exercise room. I'm scared for when I leave the area. But we use our 30 mins really well! I'm super competitive, even with myself. It's annoying. So I keep trying to get a faster mile time. This weeks was 6:29. But I'm still not satisfied. Ha. I'll keep trying to pass it.

SERVICE: I've been really trying to get better at being more accountable and on top of things but sometimes my spaceyness comes out... The other day we drove 20 mins to another town so we could help a less active member in her garden and guess who forgot our gardening clothes? ME!! Ha. But don't worry, that didn't stop us. We just worked in our skirts. It was a little tricking but it all worked out. That day it was 41 degrees Celsius!!! I think that's above 100 degrees Fahrenheit so we got just a little on the sweaty side... Woops.

JOSIE: An 8 year old in the ward got baptised yesterday and it was so sweet. The Bishop asked if we could meet with her and teach her the first three lessons so we've been meeting with her the last couple weeks and she's amazing. She really does understand what her baptism meant and after she was baptised she just couldn't stop smiling. AJ, a recent convert, was there and he talked about his baptism and how much it meant to him. It was tight! OH - Josie's mom is from Ghana. So I LOVE HER! And we had really spicy African food the other night. Not going to lie, the first bite terrified me! Ha but then it wasn't too bad.

CREEPER OF THE WEEK: After a long streak of this section being gone, it's back. Hopefully just for one week. Well we were meeting with Luca outside on his porch and his neighbour came over and started talking to us. He asked me where I was from 3 times... The last time he asked, I was super confused. And each time I answered he had the same response. Ha. It was funny. Well we told him we needed to get going like five times so we finally got up and he practically fell on me! Like he was trying to give me a hug but was so drunk he was falling over. I'm stupid and started laughing so he started laughing then it was scary! Ha. So we kind of ran off.... We left him with Luca! Ha sorry Luca!

Well I'm headed to Niagara today! SO STOKED! I'll send pictures next week.

Love you all!
