June 29, 2015

Hello Family! It's always so good to hear from you. Thanks for e-mailing me and writing me, I love reading about how everyone is doing! I was so excited to hear that Marie is pregnant! AHHH. I'm going to meet 4 new nieces and nephews when I go home. Maybe more!? Ha But I can't wait. Our family is the best!! Anyways, this week in Milton was pretty dang good! Here are some highlights:

THEY MADE MY DAY: We were tracting a couple days ago and it was a little bit of a struggle. People were home but weren't answering; they would open the door, see the name tags and slam the door fast; tell us that we are wasting our time; and it was just a little discouraging. But then we knocked on a door and a super cute couple answered! They were so friendly and told us that they knew a lot of mormons and they loved them all! The lady said that her friend at work was a Bishop of a ward and was just such a hard worker and he was always happy. Then the man went on to talk about how much he loved Mitt Romney. After talking about how awesome he was politically he said how awesome he was physically! Ha "Mitt has a really nice body. He looks like he's 40 even though he's way older. And it's because he doesn't drink or smoke!" They told us that they were devote Roman Catholics but they really respected our religion. They were asking us why were decided to serve missions, so we told them. And they were like. "Well you just glow! Keep up the good work!" Oh man, I was so grateful for them! Even though they didn't want to meet with us again they were so loving and so respectful! There seriously are so many good people in the world!

WE LIKE TO HAVE FUN: So we do spend a lot of time going door to door. Instead of being bored we sometimes play games. Like, "guess what scripture" but the other day it was somehow "guess what Disney movie." I told S. Morgan I was thinking of a movie that started with a P. She wanted a hint so I said, "black." She was still stumped so I said, "people." Then she blurted out, "Princess and the Pig!!!" BAHAHAHA close. I was laughing so hard!

RAIN FOR DAYZ: On Friday we were on exchanges so S. Robb came to Milton for the day. It started out well when we rode 6K to an appointment. The lesson bombed then it started POURING RAIN. Like not a little drizzle, there were sheets of rain. It was insane. Well we were so far from home so we started on our journey. I was laughing because we were literally riding through puddles and by the end ALL LAYERS OF MY CLOTHES WERE DRENCHED! I took a video and will put it on the USB I make today! :) But we looked so funny! And we got super dirty. I had dirt marks on my face... Not sure how that happened. But it was also on my shirt and well everywhere. We were just wet and dirty. Luckily it was lunch time so we changed and had a little bit of time to get warm!

I LOST THE PHONE AGAIN: You guys, I'm still spacey. Like, nothing has changes. So at the end of the exchange day we met in Hamilton and switched back. We drove a half hour back to Milton and when we got to our apartment I asked S. Morgan where she put the phone. She was like, "uh... you never gave it to me." I knew right then that S. Robb had it. And she was far away. OH MAN. We looked through the car and my bad like 40 times just in case but then realized we really didn't have it. Luckily our investigator Helena lives in our apartment building and she loves us. So we went to her place and called the other sisters in the Oakville ward. They said that the STL's gave our phone to our district leader and he would give it to us at church! So it wasn't too bad. We were only without a phone for like a night.... But I still felt way bad that I caused a problem. I'll try to be better. :/

LESS ACTIVE GOES CRAZY ANTI: When I meet with people who hate the Gospel, I hate them. HA no, I'm just kidding but sometimes I get ticked! And it makes me realize how much I love the Gospel. We met with a less active member who fell away from the church over 20 years ago. You guys, she was so mean and scary. She was talking about how Christ means nothing to her. She can do everything (repent) on her own, and how we go to church because we have a lot of fear, and how we're so young and have no experience, and lots of other things that made me sad. She totally turned to the world for truth rather than God and she's so unhappy. She had no facial expressions when she talked. It seemed like she was just so hollow. Then she was telling us that she lives with spirits... That kinda freaked me out. Anyways, I'm only telling you this because I was so offended by it! I knew we couldn't help her at all because she was so closed off so we decided to leave but before I left I just told her how much hope the Gospel has brought into my life. I told her that I don't have fear in life BECAUSE of the Gospel! And I told her if she wanted that we'd love to meet with her again. Then we left. And we were grumps and sad the rest of the night.

RUNNING: I've been trying to use my exercise time more effectively and so I've been pushing my speed a little bit. I want to run a mile in less than 7 mins. Which is still way slow but normally I run like 8 min miles... So this last week I would run faster speed every day. I got down to 7:10 so it's getting better. When I run I just recite "The Living Christ" in my head over and over. I love it, and if I do it every day I won't forget it. YAHOO! And we're biking like crazy so hopefully I'll lose weight! S. Morgan and I actually are on a diet. HA We have a written contract and everything. It's funny :)

THE BIBLE BASHER IS STILL GOING STRONG: David LOVES meeting with us. He invited us over for dinner this last Sunday. We already had a dinner appointment so we didn't go there but we met with him later and President Miller came again, so that was nice. David has been reading from the Book of Mormon. He's in 1 Nephi 10 but he doesn't believe it. He said that it is so different form the bible and it doesn't sound like it's from 600 BC. He prays about it every day but God told him that it wasn't true... Well, David YOU MUST NOT BE PRAYING WITH A SINCERE HEART. It's annoying because he already has a set opinion on everything and isn't willing to change or even consider anything else. DUMB. One of his major concerns is that he thinks he's perfect... And completely disagrees with the scripture in 2 Nephi 25:23 "we are saved, after all we can do." He talks about how God has made us perfect so once we have faith in Him we'll be saved. It's kind of weird but I love just testifying to him. Because he can't deny what I believe and when I testify he doesn't interrupt or argue so that's nice. Ha. Hopefully he'll have a change of heart.

Oh man, I feel like a lot of this is way negative. I promise I'm happy and things are going good! I know that my testimony has been strengthened so much because I have these experiences so I'm so grateful for them. In the Book of Mormon and in the end of Mosiah and OH MY GOSH, I'M OBSESSED! Alma the younger and the sons of Mosiah are my FAVORITE PEOPLE EVER. Like, I want to be just like them! I want to fear no man and just boldly testify all the time!

I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!
