May 4, 2015

I've got bad news guys... I'm leaving Toronto YSA and I'm seriously depressed! The worst part is I'm going to a super small town. Milton! AHHH I love the city and have been close to the city my whole mission. I'm training again too. Oh man, I just love the YSA branch so much and I'm so sad to leave. Especially since I thought I might stay. So when we found out I started making the phone calls. It wasn't easy and I was crying for the rest of the night. Anyways, this week was so awesome so I write some happy things now. :) OK this sounds way bad... I know I'll end up loving my next area but I HATE CHANGES!!!

ALED: OK one of the reasons I'm so sad is that I'm leaving is Aled. He's our investigator who is Christian and he's from the UK. He's so cool and we had some awesome lessons with him this last week. We taught the Restoration and it was scary because he knows so much about the Bible. But he was so respectful and really has a desire to know. He read the introduction and the testimonies and he came with tons of questions. Man, he's going to get baptized. And I'm so sad I can't see it.

MEMBER WORK IS THE BEST: On Wednesday night Aled came to sports. He was playing an intense game on ping pong with Aric. After the game Aled asked a question about the institute board and five minutes later Aric started testifying about The Book of Mormon. Then like 5 other members were adding their testimonies. And Aled was like, "wow, you all feel very strongly about this." And someone was like, "because it's true!!" It was so powerful and Aded has been so fellowshipped into the branch. It's amazing!

EXCHANGE: So I had an exchange this last week and it was a little crazy... Sister Herfort went to Oshawa Wednesday night around 8:00. After sports Sister Anderson and I headed home and I realized Sister Herfort never gave me the keys to our apartment. We called them like 40 times and they never answered. So we told the zone leaders and we ended up spending the night at Sister Vance and Sister Arnolds apartment. It was a little interesting. I didn't have anything. So the next day I wore the same clothes and no make up. Luckily Sister Arnold had an extra toothbrush. And I felt awful because the sisters slept on the floor. They insisted. We had like 5 appointments the next day so it was a little crazy but a lot of fun.

CREEPER OF THE WEEK: I met this guy on the bus the other day and he said he had just talking to some Elders. I was like, "oh man, that's so awesome!" And he was like, "well I didn't really like talking to them. But I'm more than willing to talk to you. You have a lot of energy and your eyes sparkle." uh... I don't like that at all.

SARAH: She has been texting us a scripture every night. After we got the phone call last night I called and told her the news. She started bawling. It was the saddest thing. After we hung up she sent Mosiah 18:8-9 and asked if we could come to her house tomorrow instead of Tim Horton's because she didn't want to cry in public. Ah man, I love her so much and I can't wait for the day that she gets baptized! She has been such an amazing example to me. I have learned so much from her! She's so caring and loving and sincere and JUST PERFECT! Anyways, I'm so grateful that I was able to meet with her and share the Gospel with her. But man, tonight will be sad.

ANA: She came to church this Sunday! And she'll be getting baptized next week. I'm so sad that I will miss it. Like it KILLS ME!! She's such a sweetheart and I'm happy for her. She's been "hanging out" with this guy in the ward, so that's interesting. I want to stay here and help her work towards the temple! BOO. Something that she always says that's so cute is, "it's such a bless." She doesn't say blessing! Ha "Meeting you tonight was such a bless."

ZONE LEADERS: Oh man, they are so great. I'm sad to leave an area with missionaries everywhere. I get to see them all the time! And my next zone is so spread out. But anyways, the Elders are so funny. The other day we were walking home and they threw these light balls down on us. Oh man, it freaked me out. I should be used to things falling in front of me from the 4th floor but I'm not. Ha It's been fun running into them all the time!!!

CRAZIES COMIN IN: Oh my goodness, maybe the strangest conversation of my mission happened this last week. We were in relief society and a sister came in and was like, "uh... can you come out here." I totally thought it was a potential investigator that we had invited or something but it wasn't... We went out and there were two scary ladies talking at some youth that were sitting at the couch waiting for their parents. Well when they saw us they started yelling at us. I was shocked so I started smiling. I don't know why? Not the best reaction. But one of the ladies was like, "I DO NOT LIKE YOUR SARCASTIC SMILE" then I started laughing so that was bad. But they started questioning us, "do you believe that we will become Gods." We told her that we believe that we have the potential to become like Gods then she was telling us that we were blasphemy for worshiping ourselves... "Uh yeah, we just worship God." She might have been a little drunk but she just kept repeating herself. She had a nasty mouth and was being so disrespectful. And eventually we were like, "so what's your purpose in coming here?" And they said they wanted to preach to mormons... One of the youth from the couch was like, "but we don't go into your churches!!" It was so cute. Like a little 16 year old tell her what's up. HOLLA. Anyways, they eventually left and the youth were all pretty surprised. I said a prayer and asked a blessing on the poor, confused, sad ladies. The youth were so cute and were like, "man, you sisters are awesome! I just wanted to punch her!" It was cute.

LOVE YOU ALL!

Sister Dayton
