HELLO!!!!!!
This week has been another good one! I can't believe the transfer is almost over. Next week I will be e-mailing you letting you know if I'm staying in Toronto YSA or if I'm moving to another area. And maybe getting a new companion! AHHH The week before transfers always stresses me out. I try not to think of it, but it's kind of hard, you know? I have a feeling that I'll be leaving the area which I HATE. I don't want to leave yet. I love the members in the branch SOOO much and our area is finally picking up!! When we came into the area we have like 5 investigators now we have 17 in our teaching pool and a lot have baptismal dates!! It's so exciting and I don't want to leave now!! But I'm sure the change would be good for me.
WEATHER: So it snowed a couple days ago. And it's been rainy, cloudy, and windy all week. I think it made me a little grumpy. I didn't realize how much I love the sun. But I don't think I could ever live in Seattle or BC or anywhere that the sun isn't out a lot. Anyways, this week should be warmer so that's exciting.
CREEPER OF THE WEEK: I was on the bus with my map on my lap just talking to a lady from the Caribbean. Normal, right? Well it got weird in a second when this man came up to me and started talking to me super loudly. Just a quick reminder no one talks on the bus except us. So everyone is listening. He was like, "You shouldn't be carrying that map around late at night. You're just too pretty and there are guys here that will take advantage of you, if you know what I mean. You need to be careful and just don't talk to any guys, OK?" Uh... Thanks. Then he got off the bus and lots of people were staring at me. Not cool.
CREEPER OF THE WEEK #2: A couple nights ago our investigator Salah called us. When I started talking I noticed that it wasn't Salah but it was his friend... I'm not sure what Salah said about our visit but his friend wanted to meet with us so he could, "stare at someone who wasn't Canadian..." Then he asked us if he could pick us up for our meeting on Friday night and take us out to a coffee place. NO WAY MAN. Anyways, the good news is he was being creepy so I started recorded it and got some funny things on my camera! I'll send it home sometime!
SKY: We had an appointment downtown earlier this week and after an hour of traveling he bailed. ARG... It ticked me off. And then it started pouring rain. And my umbrella broke because the wind is crazy strong. I was so grumpy but tried to pretend like I was fine. I started talking to Sky and everything changed!!! We talked to her for like 5 mins outside in the rain under a ledge then I asked her if she had some time right now that we could share a message with her, she said YES! So we went into a restaurant and taught her the Restoration. You guys she is so cute and such a blessing! Like I needed to meet her that day! She is from India and has been in Toronto for about 5 months. Her English is pretty much perfect and she's so open with religions!
WITCHCRAFT: When I asked a guy on the bus if he wanted to check out a website about Jesus Christ he didn't respond vocally but reached into his bag and pulled out a book that was titled, "witchcraft." Then he was like, "what do you think?" Ha I was like, "yeah, you definitely need this website." WHAT? I have no filter. It's bad! Luckily, he was nice and wasn't offended :) He laughed and took the website but then he moved to another seat in the bus. HA that's OK, I can handle that.
FREAKED ME OUT: The Elders live on the 4th floor right? And we live on the 18th. So the other night we were headed back in to our apartment at 9:28. Which is close to being late but not. Anyways, we're walking along the apartment towards the door and all of the sudden water starts coming down from a balcony. Like we almost got us drenched. But it scared me so bad!!! It was the Elders. I guess our punishment for almost being late? Yeah, it didn't make sense. It was kind of funny though.
ADAL: We met him a couple weeks ago on the street and talked to him briefly. He was in a hurry but gave us his number so we could contact him later. We invited him to our cultural night and he came! He also brought Pizza for the pot luck! He loved the performances and afterwards he talked to so many of the members for a long time. We took him on a chapel tour with one of the members he really clicked with and he was amazed with the church building. We ended in the Chapel and talked about church then invited him to come! Unfortunately, he was teaching Sunday School at his church but he committed to come next week. We're so excited to keep meeting with him! He's from the UK and is Christian but so open and curious about other religions! Perfect. Something kind of funny about him. He was a super cool accent. But the Elders observed that it's way stronger when he's talking to girls then with guys. Ha. They were like, "we couldn't even hear it then you came over and it came on strong!" Ha
INSPIRATIONAL PEOPLE: OH MY GOODNESS. Some people just have crazy stories and are so strong. They make me want to be a better person. So Tony and Harmon are YSA's from India. Harmon was baptized a little over a year ago and Tony was baptized about 8 months ago. Harmon is going on a mission! To Indian! And he was telling us about how he has been preparing. So he has been working so hard to save up for his mission. He walks 3 miles to work and 3 miles home every day so he doesn't need to buy a bus pass. And he hasn't had a cell phone for 4 months so save! Anyways, they are just so amazing! Tony comes teaching with us all the time and his testimony is unreal! They are just both so great!
OK I need to start writing spiritual thought in my e-mails. I promise I'm always learning cool things in my studies! I'll try to be better next week but I'm almost out of time... And I'm not reading over it so sorry about spelling and grammer and things not making sense....
I love you lots!! :)
