May 19, 2015

Hello everyone! Another super awesome week in Milton. I feel like I have so much to write so we'll see how much I can put in!

CREEPER OF THE WEEK IS BACK: You guys, I thought there weren't any creepers in Milton but I guess there is one. We were teaching a lesson in our front sitting area at our apartment building and this man walks up to us IN HIS UNDERWEAR and says, "hey, pretty ladies. Can I bring you a glass of wine?" I wish I could control my laughter... It's a serious problem. But I started laughing and the member that we were with said NO. BAHAHA it was hilarious but also frightening.

EXCHANGE: I went on exchanges with Sister Coleman. She's so awesome! I love her A LOT. It started off on a good note when I was telling her about my last exchange where we didn't have the keys to our apartment. Then she looked at me and pulled out the cell phone for the other area! BAHAHA we had two phones and our companions didn't have one! We laughed about it for like 20 mins then we felt bad for our poor companions. I've been without a phone and yeah, it's the worst! But it all worked out and I learned a lot from her. It's always fun being with a different companion for a day to see how they contact and teach. We talked to one guy
SCARY PHONE CALLS: Last Monday night the assistants called us. It was like the worst feeling. I though one of us was getting emergency transferred or something. But it wasn't that. They asked us to do a 15 minuet instruction at a special zone training. Such a shock. But we felt so honoured that President Clayton trusted us to do it. We spent a lot of time preparing and we were able to learn so much! The instruction went well, it was a lot of fun.
Then last night we got a call from President Clayton. AHHH! I thought for sure something bad had happened. But he just wanted to tell us how much he appreciates us and encouraged us to keep working hard! Oh my goodness, he really is the best!

WEIRD CONNECTIONS: So the other day during lunch I was talking about dance and Sister Chelson asked me if I knew Becky Biorn. UM YES!! They're from the same town and Becky is way good friends with her older brother. Small world, right? Well it gets smaller. While I was on exchanges with Sister Coleman she told me she went to Bountiful High. She totally knows Denali Young and has met Wade before. But then the strangest of all. On Saturday we had a baptism in the ward so I was washing grapes for the lunch after. And guess who walked into the kitchen? JESSIE ANDERSON! Ha I just stared at her then started laughing really hard. What the heck, right? Turns out the her husband served in Toronto and baptized the little girls mom. So they flew from Florida to Toronto for the baptism and so they can visit people from his mission. It was so fun to see her and catch up with her! They have a little girl who is adorable and I really wanted to hold her, but I couldn't.

SERVICE FOR AN ALL STAR: We are always asking people if they need any service and normally they say no. I don't get it. But anyways, one lady said we could help her with her neighbours garden! We were so excited. So we came back a couple days later in jeans and gardened for a couple hours. The lady that we met wasn't interested at all in the learning more but we were excited to meet her neighbours. Well they are the cutest family! The mom is a model and is SOOO pretty. She has four kids and guess who her husband is? RICHARD DIXON? OK I've never heard his name before but he played basketball for Utah Jazz. WHAT!? We were freaking out. I guess he was the number 1 high school recruit for Canada and he chose to play at Utah! They aren't members but they're letting us come and share a message with them. You should all look him up.

FASTING BRINGS BLESSINGS: Milton is awesome and it is full of families who are just moving in. We know that there is such potential in this area and last Sunday we fasted to find new investigators! Well the power of fasting is REAL. We were blessed to find four new investigators last week and we found a fifth yesterday! :)

MEMBER WORK: We're spending so much time working with members. We have five dinner appointments this week and we're talking to them about missionary work and committing them to 1. Pray for missionary opportunities and 2. Serve and love their neighbours. We are giving them each a paper with quotes and those commitments to put on their fridge. We are praying that we'll be able to get member referrals! Those are the strongest converts. I hope you are all doing member missionary work! :)

We took the car into Kal Tire the other day and while we were waiting for it to be fixed we started talking to this man who was super friendly. We got to know him a little bit then began to tell him our purpose as missionaries. He was way interested and before we left we got his number so we could call him to schedule an appointment with him. The next day we invited him to come to church and he said he might come. He didn't make it but hopefully this week we can meet with him. It's just cool to see the miracles that come as we really do talk to everyone and remember that we are ALWAYS missionaries.

I have so many pictures I want to send, but the library we e-mail at doesn't have a place to read memory cards. THE WORST. Oh also Sister Chelson and I have a car dance. Don't worry the song is a church song by Nik Day :) It's the best.

Love you all. LOTS!

Sister Dayton
