HOLLA!! It's weird but the weeks just keep getting better and better! We're staying so busy and we are seeing so many miracles everyday! Life is seriously so good in Brantford! This last week we were actually able to keep up with our record - we taught 42 lessons again! I guess that's our new favorite number. But it was amazing because we had 25 member present lessons! Members in the Brantford ward are seriously AMAZING! They love coming out with us! Some of them will even contact with us! It's so much fun!
MEMBERS: Yes - they are all so willing to do missionary work which is such a blessing but they also treat us like celebs!l!! The other day we were studying and a member called us and told us to come downstairs because she had hot chocolate and fruit for us!! MADE MY MORNING!! A couple days later we helped the relief society president put together some Christmas baskets then she gave us lot of make-up! SO NICE, RIGHT? On Wednesday the activity boys came into our ward correlation meeting and asked if they could drop off their gifts for the missionaries! They came in with huge boxes for each of us!! They were so happy to give it to us. IT WAS ADORABLE! We have received so many little gifts from members and they are so good at feeding us. Wow! They are just so thoughtful and they really do take such good care of us! I LOVE THE BRANTFORD WARD!
TEMPLE: I can't believe I forgot to tell you last week... So when we went to the temple I walked in and guess who was at the front desk? BROTHER SAUNDERS!!! Oh my gosh! It was such a blessing. I was so happy to see him and he started crying when he saw me. He's so amazing! I guess right after his wife died, he decided to fill his time up by working in the temple! We talked for a while and he kept on saying thank you for the note and picture I sent. Man, it seriously was the happiest!
PREACH MY GOSPEL BY THE SPIRIT: We taught Mikki the Restoration and she totally felt the spirit. At the beginning of the lesson she was talking about how she has a crazy good ability to read people... Uh. OK. So at the end of the Restoration we asked how she felt. She was like, "I know what you're saying is true. Because there is no sense of doubt in your voices. You're very confident in the message that you shared and I could feel that." We were so excited and helped her recognize that she was feeling the Spirit. The sad thing is, her mother told her she wasn't allowed to meet with us again. So we had to drop her. Super sad. But one day she'll be in a position where she can accept the Gospel!
FINDING PEOPLE WHEN WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO FIND: We were at Tim Horton's at a lesson and as we were walking out I made eye contact with a guy and felt like I should share a christmas.mormon.org card with him. So I did. Normally we don't do that inside but when the spirit speaks you gotta listen and obey, right? So we invited him to check out the website and he asked how he could learn more! So we quickly set up an appointment and got his information. The promise that President Clayton gave keeps showing up! It's so cool! But the story totally gets better! We met him again and he brought a friend! YAHOO - referrals are the best! We met with Ralph and Dominic and we had a great lesson with them! We did 'how to begin teaching' where we just kind of set expectations and help them understand what we do as missionaries. When I asked why he wanted to meet with us again Ralph said, "I felt something when you came up to me and gave me that card. I don't know what, but it made me more curious, so I guess I just want to lean more so I can feel that again." We helped him to recognize that he had felt the Holy Ghost! We're meeting with Ralph and Dominic tonight and I'm way excited!
CHRISTMAS PARTY: OH MAN! It was a blast! We had 2 investigators and LOTS of less active members so that was great! The person in charge had set up a bunch of minute to win it games! We would move from room to room playing different games. My favorite was marshmallow basketball! We had to throw a marshmallow through the Christmas wreath and into a basket. I don't know how, but I totally got seven in! One other person on our team made it in the basket and he got two in. HA! Miracles! There were lots of other super fun games. I got way competitive which was probably not good! Everyone was like, "whoa. Other side of Sister Dayton." I just got way too excited! Ha.
ANYWAYS - everything is going really well! I'm excited to skype with you all in like 11 days! YAHOO! I can't believe Christmas is that soon!! And it's going to come way fast! This next week will be insane! We're exchanging with London 1st tonight then tomorrow night we are exchanging with Sarnia, then we had our zone conference on Thursday and when that meeting is over we'll exchange with London Spanish! Oh man, figuring out the details was the worst! Ha. But we're way excited for this week! AND last night one of the assistants called and asked if we could do an 20 min instruction at zone conference. Good thing we have two days together to prepare... Ha we'll figure it out! Let the craziness begin! :)
Love you all!
Sister Dayton
