October 12, 2015

Hi everyone! So wanna hear something crazy!? It's week 6!! W-H-A-T! These transfers are going by insanely fast. Transfer calls are happening this Sunday! I'm pretty sure we're both staying in Brantford but you NEVER know... So I'll let you all know next week! Wanna hear something else crazy? It's Thanksgiving... Awkward - Canada thinks it's in October. Well we had an amazing Thanksgiving meal yesterday and we have a Thanksgiving meal tonight. The members here are so good to us!

PRETTY: I think Ontario is the prettiest in the fall. OH MAN - it's unreal. There are trees everywhere and the colors on the leafs are amazing. I think I say, "ahhh look at that tree" like 20 times a day. So that's nice. I've been picking up nice red maple leaves and putting them in letters so that's been fun. I put the most perfect red leaf in my scriptures in D&C 100 because that section was given when Joseph and Sidney Rigdon went on a mission in Canada. HOLLA. Anyways, I'm glad I'm here. It's been so nice and it's still not cold which is awesome because last year it was cold by October. I hear that this winter won't be as bad as last winter so that's happy!

CALLED OUT: Yesterday we had a Thanksgiving dinner at a members house! She was so nice to invite us and she also invited Jordan, our recent convert and some older ladies who don't have any family around! Well, I were SUPER hungry and she made so much food so I totally got seconds. Well Jordan noticed and said super loudly, "Well Sister Dayton sure was hungry, she's on her second plate!" BAHAHAHA I couldn't stop laughing!

USHER CALLED: We got a call from a random number so we answered it and guess who it was?Usher, the singer, and he said he wanted to come to church... He also said we were beautiful. So I guess Usher loves me and Sister Vance and he's coming to church next Sunday. Ha! Jokes. I think it was some high school kids who we gave a mormon.orgcard to. Dumb.

PONDERIZE: My scripture this last week was 1 Nephi 17:13 "And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led." Ahhhh isn't that so good!? It's TRUE.

SPECIALTY TRAINING: We had another meeting this week. It was all the ZL, DL, and STL in a couple zones. Like always, President and Sister Clayton NAILED IT! Ha. But we talked about teaching simply and really teaching people rather than teaching lessons. One thing that President Clayton said, "teach truth and testify then get out of the way so the Spirit can do His job." I loved it because I think I sometimes say too much! I'm working on it!! He also talked about the first three lessons and what their main point is.
Restoration - Revelation!! (God loves us. He talks to His prophets. He can talk to you.)
Plan of Salvation - Atonement (The Atonement makes Salvation possible!)
The Gospel - The Path (Everything we need to do to return to live with our families and with God.)
In Conference there were a couple talks about how the Gospel is so simple. And it really is!! I love it.

SPORTS: So last week we went to zone sports for the first time this transfer. We live like 45 mins away from the stake center and we don't want to use the k's every week. But this week we decided to go and I was STOKED. I played hard for over 2 hours - it was the happiest! We played speed (basketball) and I won one of the rounds. HOLLA. One of the Elders asked if I played basketball is high school. BAHAHA "NO! I was just blessed to have a couple lucky shots!" Anyways, the next day I was KILLER SORE! It was the best! I haven't been sore in at least 2 months. So that was good! I'm excited to play more sports when I go home.

EXCHANGES: Well my first one this week was with my baby and my grand baby! (Sister Bott and Sister Clark.) Man - it was so much fun! They are in YSA work so we were on campus and it reminded me of the good ole Toronto YSA days. I love YSA's they're seriously so open and chill! Well - most of them. The night before Sister Bott and I accidentally stayed up till 12:30 talking. We're totally allowed to pillow talk but we should not have stayed up quite that late. My bad. But it was so fun to catch up with her! AHHH. The next day I was with London Spanish sisters! I also LOVE them. The day was super funny because a lot of their investigators, new converts, and returning members didn't speak English so I got really good at saying. "iTestifico que eso es verdadero." Which means, I know that what they said is true. Ha. It was a blast and we had a yummy Spanish lunch with a member and a yummy Chinese take out dinner with another member. I picked a good day to go in their area. All of these sisters are doing such a good job at implementing the mission vision changes! And they were excited with the new goals that we all set together. YAHOO!

JORDON: He got confirmed on Sunday!! We were talking to him afterwords and he said, "I could feel the Holy Spirit enter in my body!" He loved it! He has such a good relationship with all of the ward members and he's doing great! He invited his sister, Sandra, to meet with us. We taught the Restoration! It was awesome because she was saying how other churches were boring and Jordon was like, "well yeah, because they aren't true!" Ha.

OK so many other cool things happened but I'm running out of time so I'll stop there. LOVE YOU ALL.

Sister Dayton

Jordan put some white clothes on so we could get a picture because we didn't get one at his baptism before. Ha. Brother Dupree is the ward mission leader! I'm obsessed with him. He's so dedicated to missionary work!
