March 23, 2015

So I just finished my 5th transfer! Is that just crazy? I just can't believe how fast time goes. I know I say that almost every week but it's true!! Anyways, I am staying in Toronto YSA with Sister Herfort BUT we got a call from our zone leaders and they said Sister Cruise is leaving. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY OUR CAR. I'm totally freaking out because our area is huge and we drive all the time! So, that will be different. When we visit people up north we are in the car for over a half hour, so we'll start planning a lot of travel time! But it will be fun to always be on buses doing lots of contacting! And we can walk all the time so that's cool!

FOOD: So yep, we are still getting fed all the time. On Thursday it was a little crazy. We got fed lunch around 2:00 and our dinner appointment was 5:00. Our lunch was so delicious. We went to a Spanish members house and they gave us so much food so when we left at 3:00 filling so nasty and full. We showed up to our 5:00 appointment and they had everything ready for us. But guess what they fed us??? SQUID! No joke. I almost died. I didn't want to eat any of it because I was still so full and it looked nasty. Ha but I did and it ended up being OK. Oh also, a recent convert took us to this bomb Chinese restaurant. It was the best Chinese food I've ever had! And it was so expensive so bless her!!!

LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE. So on Saturday I was awake for 19 hours. It was nuts! It was our temple trip so of course is was amazing but we had to wake up at 3:30. We picked the sister in another area and drove to the temple and were there by 5:30. But wow, it was so amazing. I love the temple so much! So don't put this in the blog but I saw the first temple video! Am I allowed to write about that... Maybe I'll stop there.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE HATE MISSIONARIES: We had a lesson with our investigator Ben at a Restaurant. We sat down and I started saying an opening prayer. Well the workers started blasting music. Like it was so loud, and I'm stupid and totally started laughing. But anyways we asked them to turn it down a little bit because it was insanely loud. So they turned it down a tiny but and just started laughing at us and said, "enjoy your lesson." OK. We left and sat in a dessert store that was a lot happier. Ben is awesome and is crazy smart. He totally understands everything so well but he's having a hard time recognizing the Spirit.

SEPERATION: So I was on the bus talking to this YSA from Afganastan. He was super curious about our religoion and we had a long bus ride so it was perfect. We were talking about the Book of Mormon and I was super into the conversation. I got his number so we could meet with him later and then I looked up and realized I had totally passed my stop. So I told him bye and started looking around for Sister Herfort... Well she wasn't on the bus. Ha I'm the worst, instead of being nervous I totally just started laughing. I got off the next stop and just started walking back. I was just laughing on the side of the road I probalby looked like a crazy person. But anyways I eventually met up again with Sister Herfort so all is well :)

EXCHANGE: I was with Sister Mancarelli and it was a blast! We had so much fun! The whole day I was working on referrals because I'm the worst at asking for them. Like one someone says they're not interested it's hard to keep asking them questions, right? But every time we were contacting, Sister Mancarelli would cough and that was my time that I needed to ask for a referral. It was hilarious. But by the end of the night I was totally remembering without the cough. HOLLA!

MY SPIRIT ANIMAL: When I was on exchanges Sister Mancarelli asked me if I had a spirit animal. Uh, nope. I have no idea what that even means. She said you pick an animal that you think you're like and if it shows itself to you that's your true spirit animal. Yeah, I don't really feel attached to any kind of animal but I went with a Raccoon. They kind of just eat junk all the time and they seem kind of dumb but they're kind of interesting so I went with that. Well I saw one on Saturday. It was freaky. So now I have a spirit animal!

SCRIPTURES: I'm reading the New Testament right now and I love it! I have a student manual and it's awesome. I was reading Matthew 13:44-46 and it was so cool to see the similarities in the two situations. They both sold all they had to purchase the valued item (the Gospel) but it was interesting because they found it differently. One was searching for it and one just accidentally ran into it. But I love this because no matter how people find the Gospel it doesn't matter.

OK this probably doesn't make sense I randomly stop e-mailing and talk to the missionaries here so this might be confusing. But I love you all lots!!
