December 29, 2015

HELLO!!! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! I also hope everyone in Utah has a party while there together!! No worries - no MOS here! Because Sister Arnold and I had the BEST Christmas here in Brantford.

MEMBER REFERRALS: You all know how I feel about Brantford. Well I just keep loving it more and more! This last week we had to report some numbers to our zone leaders because they're meeting with our stake president. They asked how many member referrals we received this last month so we added them up and it was 14! Isn't that amazing!! There were 14 members who introduced us to a friend!! When members and missionaries work together the progress is able to increase like crazy! Pretty much everyone in our teaching pool is a member referral!

FINDING: On Friday night we were feeling a little discouraged because we hadn't found a new in like 10 days. We were feeling like we were letting the Lord down. So we prayed really hard that night and the next morning to find a new investigator. On Saturday we were dropping by a potential returning member and planned to work in her area for about 30 mins. Well because it was boxing day NO ONE was home or outside. We talked to only 1 person the whole time we were in that area and guess what? HE'S A NEW INVESTIGATOR. And solid one at that! He is super religious and loves learning about other religions! We did "How to begin Teaching" and briefly shared the Restoration. We then set up a return appointment, got his phone number and his address! We're so excited to go back! It was such a blessing and when we walked away we both talked about what a miracle that was! That experience strengthened my testimony of prayer!! He does listen and he does speak back in his own way! :)

STRANGE CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER: A member was so sweet to invite us over! And we were excited because she's the only member in her family so we thought we could share a message and find some cool, new people to teach!! Well weren't interest at all. HA. The dinner was delicious! There was a lot of alcohol on the table and I had to keep passing it to people. Kind of weird. Ha. And one of the sons was telling a story about stealing stuff. Cool. It was different that's for sure! But the food was delicious and it was so sweet of them to think of us and allow us to come!

CHRISTMAS EVE: We had 7 appointments, which was awesome!! The last one of the night was with the Wu family!! AH man! I love them lots! We went over and made popcorn and watched a Christmas clip from the bible videos and it was so fun!! That night after planning we opened up presents that Sister Arnolds mom sent for each of us! SO THOUGHTFUL! They were cute PJ's! YAHOO!

CHRISTMAS DAY: Well we had lots of presents from the ward to open up! And while we were on exchanges we bought gifts for each other! HA! So we stretched during our exercise time and opened presents! People are so sweet and we were so touched by all of the gifts that we received! It was totally warm... So that was weird! I didn't wear a coat most of the day. It was 14 degrees Celsius. CRAZY. We had 6 appointments that day! Mostly with members who didn't have family! We felt the Christmas spirit so strong and we loved going into different homes to share that with members! We got to skype!! Yes, I loved that so much! It was so fun to talk to all of you!! And I am still freaking out about Becky's pregnancy and Kayden's (how do you spell it!?) birth!! :) We had a lovely meal with the Martens and ended our night caroling to about 5 families! It was so fun!! Thank you for all the letters, packages, and pictures you sent!! I LOVED EVERYTHING! You were all so sweet to think of me! :)

I love you all so so much and hope you have an amazing New Years!! Bring on 2016!!!
